BGR Posts Passenger Growth Record for September 2005 10/25/2005

Bangor International Airport (BGR) announced another record increase in passenger traffic.....

for September 2005. BGR posted an 8.2% increase over September 2004's passenger figures, with a Year to Date increase of 7.22%. Total passengers flying into BGR were 44,132 during the month of September 2005, more than 3,300 passengers over September 2004's figure of 40,770. This is the fourth consecutive September since 2001 with a significant increase.

Bangor International Airport Director Rebecca L. Hupp has noted: "We are very pleased with our ever increasing passenger figures. It is a tribute to the Airport' and the airline's exceptional customer service, and airline's efforts to keep prices competitive. The region's passengers continue to use Bangor, even in the wake of the current wave of airline industry uncertainties."
City of Bangor Mayor Frank Farrington observed: "The Bangor International airport continues to be a very important part of this region's economy, playing a vital role in Maine's tourism growth. Our goal is to successfully meet the region's air transportation needs, while striking a balance between the future development of the Airport and the quality of life issues so important to the citizens of the City of Bangor."
Bangor International Airport is a full service regional airport offering non-stop, affordable jet flights to Boston, Cincinnati, Detroit, New York City, Newark, Philadelphia, and seasonal flights to Minneapolis. The Airport is an enterprise funded entity operated by the City of Bangor, Maine and is supported solely through Airport generated revenue.
