Bangor International Airport (BGR) announced their highest....
year end passenger figures in the Airport’s history. At the end of December 2005, BGR showed a passenger total of 480,605, which was a nearly 6% increase over 2004 and 5% over the previous record set in 1998.
Bangor International Airport’s Director Rebecca L. Hupp is quoted:
"We are very happy with BGR’s growth of 25% over the last 5 years. Our 2005 passenger total shows that the region’s passengers are excited about our 100% jet service, competitive fares, and excellent connectivity. Local and regional passenger usage is the most influential indicator when airlines are determining service levels for an Airport. A continued increase of Bangor International Airport’s passenger enplanements will show the air carriers that BGR can sustain more diverse air service.”
City of Bangor Mayor John Cashwell, III notes: “It is impressive that Bangor International Airport’s passenger figures have continued to increase despite the recent uncertainty of the airline industry and it speaks volumes for this market and its potential. Air service is one of many important economic development projects that the City of Bangor has undertaken and I am very pleased that our efforts have shown such positive results.”
Bangor International Airport is a full-service regional airport offering non-stop, affordable jet flights to Boston, Cincinnati, Detroit, New York City, Newark, Philadelphia, and seasonal flights to Minneapolis.
