“Northwest Airlines is pleased to expand our Minneapolis-Bangor summer service to a daily flight,” said Tom Bach, Vice President of Airlink and market planning for Northwest Airlines. “With smooth connections at our hub at Minneapolis/St. Paul to numerous destinations throughout the West and Midwest, the Minneapolis service will provide new options to our existing Detroit service for visitors to experience the beauty of the Maine Highlands.”
Bangor International Airport Director Rebecca L. Hupp noted as follows:
"We’re delighted to announce the start-up of our seasonal jet service to Minneapolis-St. Paul. We are pleased that the frequency this year will be increased to a daily flight and that Bangor was selected for this additional service. The service to Minneapolis is a wonderful compliment to our other existing service and enables passengers to reach additional destinations in the West with just one stop.”
City of Bangor Mayor Frank Farrington observed: “The addition of the Northwest Airlines service from Minneapolis will certainly enhance the travel choices for people wanting to visit the Bangor region. I am confident the residents of the area will support this new flight and make it a success. I am optimistic we will see continued growth in travel options from the Bangor International Airport.”
