Due to recent events, the Bangor International Airport would like their passengers to be aware of upgraded Transportation Security Administration screening requirements.
Effective immediately, by order of the Department of Homeland Security Transportation Security Administration, passengers may not have liquids or gels of any size at the screening checkpoint or in the cabin of the aircraft. This includes beverages, shampoo, suntan lotion, creams, toothpaste, hair gel, and other items of similar consistency. Such items may be transported in checked baggage. Passengers are asked to check as much luggage as they possibly can.
Passengers may have – Baby formula, breast milk, or juice if a baby or small child is traveling, prescription medicine with a name that matches the passenger’s ticket, insulin and essential other non-prescription medicines.
Airport Director, Rebecca Hupp has noted: “At this point in time, flights from the Bangor International Airport have not been delayed or impacted in any way, nor do we expect that they will be. We apologize for the added time this may require, but anticipate the flying public will appreciate the added security measures and adjust their schedules accordingly.”
