June 26, 2012 – Bangor, Maine – Bangor City Manager, Catherine Conlow selects Anthony Caruso as the new Director of Bangor International Airport.
Ms. Conlow commented, “After an extensive search, I am pleased to announce that Tony Caruso has been selected as the new Bangor International Airport Director. Tony brings to the position extensive knowledge of Bangor International Airport and all facets of the aviation industry. He brings to the City and the Airport a forward thinking, team oriented philosophy that will serve Bangor well into the future.”
Tony Caruso expressed about his appointment, “I am honored at being named the new director. BGR is a great asset to the City of Bangor and the region, and I look forward to working closely with the city and regional leaders to make sure that the airport reaches its full potential. We have a great team here at BGR and together I know that we will continue to provide great service to our customers and the region.”
Mr. Caruso holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Bridgewater State College in Aviation Science with a concentration in Airport Management. His background includes FBO (Fixed Base Operation) management, airline operations, and airport management. As BGR’s Assistant Director, he oversaw BGR’s FBO, ramp services including fueling, aircraft maintenance, ground support maintenance, passenger services and customer services. Tony is an FAA licensed Private Pilot, and is a Certified Member through the American Association of Airport Executives.
