WITH ALLEGIANT AIR!

AIRLINE CELEBRATES FIRST FLIGHT WITH SPECIAL $79.99* ONE-WAY FARE

BANGOR, Maine – Bangor, Maine residents now have a way to get away to the beaches of the sunny Tampa Bay, Fla. area as low-cost airline Allegiant Air kicks off the only nonstop service from Bangor International Airport to the St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport.  To celebrate, Allegiant is offering a special $79.99* one-way fare to the Tampa Bay area.

“We are extremely pleased to offer the Bangor community yet another Florida vacation destination,” Maurice J. Gallagher, Allegiant Travel Company CEO, said. “This is an exciting new addition for our airline and our customers as we launch the only low-cost, nonstop service between Bangor and the Tampa Bay area.”

The new flights operate twice weekly, with service Monday and Friday. Flights depart Bangor at 6 p.m. arriving in Tampa Bay at 9:40 p.m. Flights leaving Tampa Bay depart at 1:55 p.m. arriving in Bangor at 5:20 p.m. (all flight times are local).  Allegiant Air began nonstop service to Orlando Nov. 7, 2007.

“We are very excited about the new nonstop service from Bangor to St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport offered by Allegiant Air,” Rebecca Hupp, airport director of Bangor International Airport, said. “The new service presents a tremendous opportunity for both inbound and outbound tourism for both communities. We look forward to working with the various stakeholder groups to ensure the success of this new route and to build upon the tremendous successes of Allegiant’s Orlando service.”

With an average 361 days of sunshine each year, the St. Petersburg-Clearwater area is considered the most popular vacation destination on Florida’s West Coast.  The area was named among the top beaches in the United States and is one of a few destinations to have received the “Blue Wave Award” from the Clean Beaches Council.  In addition to pristine beaches, visitors are within minutes of shopping, amazing golf courses and award-winning resort and dining experiences.

Strong demand from current customers and input from local community leaders indicate the Bangor community will welcome the new nonstop flights and low fares to the Tampa Bay area.  The new Tampa Bay service offers the community low-cost alternative to connecting flights and long drives to other airports.

The company offers low-cost air and hotel packages with 20 area hotels in Tampa Bay, St. Petersburg and Clearwater.  Partner properties include the Hyatt Regency Tampa Bay, Hilton Clearwater and Renaissance Vinoy Resort & Golf Club.  The company also provides low-cost car rental service through its partnership with Alamo Rent A Car.
