Become a Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Maine Troop Greeters organization.  Volunteers are our greatest asset and the backbone of the organization.  With Troop flights arriving on an almost daily basis at all times of the day or night, we can never have too many volunteers.

Whether you’re helping a Troop mail a package home, dispensing free cell phones, serving cookies and candy with a smile, calling Greeters with troop flight information,  or simply giving our Troops a warm welcome, Volunteers are vital to the Maine Troop Greeters Mission:

The mission of the Maine Troop Greeters is to express the nation’s (and our) gratitude and appreciation to the troops, for those going overseas for a safe return, and for those returning for a joyful homecoming and to make their (hopefully brief) stay in Bangor as comfortable and pleasant as possible.

Although the duties of a Volunteer may vary, the goal is always the same…to thank our Troops for their service and to give them a little piece of Bangor’s finest hospitality to carry with them.

Joining the Maine Troop Greeters volunteer program is easy and we guarantee you will be enriched as a person through your experiences with our Troops.  The following options listed can have you in our Volunteer Greeter program tomorrow!

  • Go to the Troop Greeter Room at Bangor International Airport (287 Godfrey Blvd.) during a Troop flight arrival.  The TG Room is located on the second level of the Domestic Terminal.  Let the person at the Front Desk know that you are interested in becoming a Troop Greeter and they will give you the necessary information and forms.
  • Contact  (blank) (blank), Chairperson of the Membership Services Committee at (telephone) or via e-mail (address), and let (her or him) know of your interest in becoming involved with the program.
