Student Tour
BGR is an exciting place to educate and inspire people of all ages. Our airport is a great location to see how the aviation industry operates first hand, and is an ideal field trip for students and community/civic groups.
BGR's airport tours are free of charge and are considered a service to our community. Tours are available year round and typically last about two hours. BGR offers tours on Tuesdays and Wednesdays between the hours of 8:00am and 4:00pm which can be tailored to the age and interest of each group.
Your group will have the opportunity to learn all about airport operations up close and personal. Your guide will point out interesting sights and educational facts as your group walks through the various terminals and facilities of the airport.
School Programs
Looking for a fascinating way to augment your educational plan? Bangor International Airport offers a variety of ways for educators to bring the exciting real-world activities of the airport to the classroom. From fascinating behind-the-scenes tours, to the airport's Speakers Bureau, the airport can be a unique and stimulating resource for your curriculum.
Educators should note that the most successful visits are the ones where the students have had expectations clearly outlined for them and then have some specific tasks that help them key into things they see and hear. Upon completion of the tour, your students will better understand the role an airport and aviation plays in the community, as well as the wide range of careers related to aviation.
