Delta Announces Expansion at Bangor International
Delta Airlines announced last week that it will be expanding its service from Bangor to Boston with two additional flights daily starting November 4th. The two new flights will depart Bangor at 5:15 am and 12:45 pm. Delta will continue their four current Bangor to Boston flights along with service to Cincinnati and Atlanta.
Bangor International Airport Assistant Director, Tony Caruso commented, “We are very pleased with the expanded service to Boston by Delta. The additional capacity and frequency will help meet the demand by our passengers by offering more connection opportunities. Our strong September growth of 8.1% over last year at the same time shows that the demand is here. We will maintain our discussions with all of the airlines to expand service wherever and whenever possible to meet the needs of our market.”
“The importance of additional air service for Bangor cannot be overstated. The airport’s impact on the regional economy is tremendous. The Airport is essential to our transportation infrastructure and the more service we have, the stronger that infrastructure becomes for our economic vitality.” stated Bangor Councilor and Transportation Infrastructure Chair, Gerry Palmer.
