Delta Airlines announced yesterday that it will be adding service to JFK and  expanding its service from Bangor to Boston with one additional flight daily starting June 5th.  The Bangor  to New York (JFK) service will be departing Bangor daily at 11:30 am arriving in New York at JFK at 1:15 pm.   The additional Boston flight will depart Bangor at 5:25 pm.   Delta will continue their two current Bangor to Boston flights departing at 5:50 am and 1:35 pm along with their service to Cincinnati and Atlanta.

Bangor International Airport Director, Rebecca Hupp commented, “We have continued our discussions with Delta’s planning department and we are very excited about their decision to add New York service and expand their Boston service during the summer season.  We expect that the new New York service and added Boston frequency will be well received by our passengers and offer more flexibility to meet their travel needs.  We will continue discussions with all carriers and anticipate that our current airlines will continue to expand their service to meet demand.”

Sue Hawes, Bangor Council Chair, remarked, “The added service will facilitate travel to and from Bangor and Central Maine.  It enhances the opportunity for visitors to come to our wonderful region.  As tourism is the largest industry in the state and very important to our region, this is welcome news.”
